Service Opportunity
New American Integration Program (NAIP)
The New American Integration Program recruits committed individuals from diverse backgrounds to assist and strengthen the work of community based organizations that serve refugees and immigrants. Our diverse group represents 21 different countries and speaks 23 different languages. Members will assist refugee and immigrant communities in obtaining essential services and educational opportunities that enable them to improve their quality of life. NAIP members receive intensive training to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages, serve as medical interpreters, and assist eligible Legal Permanent Residents in their applications for citizenship.The term of the service for this position continues from the start of service through August 31, 2012, with the possibility to reapply for a full-year position (Sep 2012-Aug 2013). The member will be expected to complete at least 900 hours of service at their host site through the duration of their service.Members interested in this service opportunity will receive:

Executive Director

The next Executive Director should be prepared to work with the Board and consultants to lead Discount Foundation through the shift that is already underway from a thirty-five year old leader among small foundations to a healthy and impactful close within four years. This transition will require a thoughtful and strategic approach to leverage outstanding assets with the goal of nearing mission completion with the remaining resources. Director of Estate and Gift Planning
Boston Foundation
The Director of Estate and Gift Planning will be responsible for the management and growth of a comprehensive program for planned and legacy giving. S/he will work both independently and cooperatively with other development and donor services staff, with Board members, and other volunteers and professional advisors to promote all forms of planned and legacy gifts. The Director will oversee the Permanent Fund for Boston, the Equality Fund Initiatives and other efforts to raise planned gifts. Nonprofit Finance Fund is conducting its fourth annual nationwide survey examining the current state of the nonprofit sector. The survey, which is anonymous and takes only 10-15 minutes to fill out, collects data on important financial and management issues facing the nonprofit sector. The Giving Common: The Giving Common (TGC) is an online database of nonprofit profiles that funders, donors and the general public can search by issue area, geography, and other variables with the option to “donate now”.
